Poker is Growing in Northern VirginiaMon 05-20-2013 Permalink
The Monday Poker tournament at the Blue Iguana is growing. We had our largest turnout this week for Monday night poker in Northern Virginia.
We play Texas Hold'em poker every week on Mondays in Fairfax at the Blue Iguana restaurant in Fair Lakes. We use some of the best poker equipment you can have. We have poker chips with multi-color edge spots. We use high quality plastic cards, like they use in the World Series of Poker. Doyle Bruson, the godfather of poker, says an eight person table is the perfect size, and we use eight person tables. (Sometimes we put nine to a table if we have to.) Our poker tables are solid one piece tables with green felt and padded rails. We use the white dealer buttons just like in the casino poker rooms. Robert usually runs the Monday night tournament at the Blue Iguana. Registration starts at 6:00, we deal cards at 7:00 and 9:30. There are prizes for both games. Dismay over Poker WinWed 05-15-2013 Permalink
At the final table for the 7:00 game, we had Ronnie T. took home the cash by winning against Josh B. in the final hand, much to the dismay of both Sean and Jamie. Also at the final table were Paul C., Nancy M., Pete G., Nettie M., Don H., and Joe (McBluffin) B. - but no Sean or Jamie.
It has been awhile since Ronnie has been at our poker table. He showed up tonight amid jeers from Sean and Jamie, but showed them who was the better poker player. And next week will be Sean's last tournament with us before he moves to Florida - everyone come by to say goodbye to Sean. In the 9:30 poker tournament, Joe McBluffin came in first place with Charles T. making second. Joe took home the cash for this poker tourney. |
$150 Cash to Win at Tuesday PokerTue 05-14-2013 Permalink
Play poker for free at The Luxe Events and win $150 cash. we have two Texas Hold'em poker tournaments on Tuesday. The first is at 7:00 and pays $100 cash as the first place prize (second place is a gift certificate). The second tournament is at 9:30 and pays $50 cash to the winner, and a gift certificate to second place.
The Luxe Events is a new bar in Manassas Park. They keep re-inventing themselves, and we keep changing poker there to keep up. It's a big place with great waitresses, good drinks, fantastic food, and ... uh ... poker. Need we say more? |
Athena Wins First Place in PokerTue 05-07-2013 Permalink
Tonight in our 9:30 poker tournament, Athena ousted all the other players to take 1st place at the table. Wearing a pink baseball cap ad brandishing an MP3 player, her poker face was nothing but a smile as she took ship after chip from the other players.
It's Tuesday night poker at The Luxe Events in Manassas Park. The Red, White, and Poker League plays poker every Tuesday night at The Luxe - and you are invited to play for free. We have two poker tournaments, at 7:00 and 9:30. Registration starts at 6:00, we deal cards at 7:00. If you sign-in before 6:30 you get a bonus card for more chips.
