First Win of the Year 2010

Derick Almond became our first 1st place tournament winner of the year on Monday, January 4, 2010 while playing at Addy's Bar and Grill in Manassas, Va. Queen-Jack suited (Hearts) become his winning hand. Derick won and ended up with all the chips in the game.

For winning, Derick gets 35% of the points pool, or 17.5 points for every player who signs in for the game. (If you didn't sign in, then you cheated Derick out of 17.5 points - remember to sign in). Derick also got $50 in cash, but what is money compared to points?

Will Derick be able to keep his lead in points? He going to need a few more appearances at the final table. Look for Derick at the final table, but fold if he raises you.
